Manage meeting presentations

Be sure, as the chairperson, if you ask somebody to make a presentation, that you give them a clear objective for the presentation (for example, “We need to make a decision about X – what do we need to know about your project?”, or ”Can you summarise the top three lessons that we learned by tendering for that contract?”).

Don’t just ask people to present “about” something. Give the presenter an idea of the level of detail that you expect. People using PowerPoint tend to make presentations that are far too detailed. Spend some time with the person who has to present clarifying clear parameters for the presentation and clearly communicating the time available.
